In 1997, we embarked on a mission to create a festival for cutting-edge women's music in all genres. The only criteria for inclusion were artistic merit, originality and leadership.
All musicmakers were welcome as long as there was prominent participation by a woman artist. We hoped in this way to overcome the invisible boundaries which exclude women from perception as equal partners in the creation of culture, deserving of a fundamental aesthetic trust.
